Mindfulness FREE intro sessions – Mouans-Sartoux, France
Jan 17 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Free intro sessions Thursday January 17th and 24th from 10h to 12h everyone welcome!

Victoria Retirement Home, 755 Chemin des Gourettes, 06370 Mouans-Sartoux

it’s an intro session to the spring Mindfulness Course Starting Thursday, January 31st.

If you have wanted to learn to meditate but don’t know where to start, then here is your chance. We work in a supportive group with clear live guidance and recorded meditations at home

This is the best environment to keep you on track until mindfulness has become second nature and simply a way of life. You do not need to sit cross-legged on a cushion ! Enjoy the calm and sense of freedom that comes from being in the moment. Give yourself this valuable gift and become the master of anxiety, low mood and distraction.

As one participant said “I thought, if not now, then when?! ”
In the 8 week course we will meet once a week for two hours to practice mindfulness techniques, study the workings of the mind and share our experiences. We will be sitting, walking, lying down and moving gently.

There will be some written exercises and discussion as well as times of silence and meditation.
To achieve positive results students commit to one lesson per week and 45 to 60 minutes of home practice 6 days per week. In this way old destructive habits of reacting to stress can be replaced by new ways of responding with intelligence and we will find that we are better equipped to deal with tension, fear or pain.

With mindfulness we can also be more present during our pleasant and joyful moments and thus able to enjoy the good times to the full.
This course is suitable for adults of any belief system or none. Participants will receive recordings covering six different meditation routines to facilitate their practice at home.

After the end of the course, Alison will be available for coaching by phone or Skype for those who would like to develop even more Mindfulness in their lives. Those who have studied the 8-week course are welcome to participate in any future courses for a 10 euro contribution per lesson, we love to have you back! (as long as space allows).

Workshop for Graduates or Meditators Only – Extended Practice Bar sur Loup @ Omindfulness
Feb 23 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Workshops for Graduates or Meditators Only

The peace of being present is only a breath away, come and refresh your practice.

This is a workshop for meditators.

A friendly way to revisit the meditations taught in the 8 week mindfulness course. A wonderful opportunity to restart or refresh your practice and remember how it feels to be present for a day. We are now exploring our understanding of kindness and compassion in Mindfulness and attendance in regular Saturday workshops will allow for a deepening in this aspect of your practice and life.

No matter whether you are still doing formal practice or not, you are all welcome. For those who have not taken a mindfulness course but have meditated, come along and learn more about mindfulness in an experiential way.

We will start with a group share and then step into silence.

I will guide us through a series of sitting, walking, moving and lying down meditations which will last between 15 and 50 minutes each.

This day of immersion is best suited to those who have meditated already. If your yoga practice includes meditation then you are welcome too.

Bring your own picnic lunch to eat mindfully and you will be served a cup  of delicious soup, tea and snacks too.

If you have a yoga mat then do bring it and wear warm clothes that enable you to move and breathe easily. A shawl or blanket is a good idea and it is useful to have paper and pen with you.

Mindful Hike above Courmes and the Gorges du Loup
Mar 23 @ 10:30 am – 3:30 pm
Do join us for a mindful walk above the beautiful Gorge du Loup.
Starting at 10h30 in the Courmes carpark. We should be back by 15h30
Cost 25 euros
Walking mindfully  is a wonderful way to refresh or discover a mindfulness practice with the pleasure of a shared experience but without the chat ! Sometimes referred to as Forest Bathing, this way of experiencing the outdoors serves to refresh and inspire.
  • There will be guidance on how to walk mindfully and opportunities to stop and look and “be”along the way.
  • We will reflect on how the body feels as we walk, we will open to our senses and take the opportunity to connect with the natural environment in a mindful way.
  • A silent lunchtime picnic will awaken the tastebuds and a circle for sharing will allow us to express something about our walking meditation if we so wish.
This will be a mostly silent hike of about 4 hours including picnic stop.
This circular walk is suitable for anyone used to hiking who has a medium level of fitness. We move at a steady rate with more emphasis on presence than pace. The first section is fairly steeply uphill through the woods (of about 150 vertical meters) and can be hot. Then a more gentle climb, a flat section up on the open plateau, where we will have lunch, and the last hour is downhill through open land and woodland. The terrain is rocky and uneven. There is no drinking water along the route. There are beautiful views.
Please call if you have any questions 06 17 05 82 41
and be kind enough to book in advance on line 25 euros sorry no refunds.
I am looking forward to it !

Mindful Walk / Forest Bathing (optional swim), Tea and Chats – Bar-sur-Loup, France
Apr 27 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Mindful Walk / Forest Bathing (optional swim), Tea and Chats

Park above the gendarmerie and walk down to 4 bis Rue de la Fontaine.

We will start about 12 noon by sharing a tea and a short guided meditation introducing the theme of the day.

We will then walk from the house along a woodland path approximately 2 km towards Pont du Loup, mostly in silence. There is a steep section with uneven footing as well as smooth paths that follow the contour. At Pont du Loup we can stroll up the river for a picnic (bring your own picnic and water) and a chilly dip for the brave. Bring a costume if you feel inclined to swim.

We will walk or drive back to Bar sur Loup along the old railway line, which is now a very quiet road. We will finish about 15h with tea and a closing circle. It’s interesting to notice how a day of focusing on the moment can enhance one’s mood and positive outlook

It’s lovely to know in advance who is coming so please book here.
