Forest bathing  in and around London

“Forest bathing is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, truly notice and take in the wonderful sounds, sights and textures of nature, possibly in a way that you never have before. Enjoy the healing  that this brings, in the moment and in the days that follow” – Sophie Matthew

Sophie guides forest bathing walks and teaches both Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness for Health courses at various venues in North and West London. She is also a qualified teacher with the Mindfulness in Schools Project.
Sophie has a condition which means that she lives with chronic pain, and this is something that mindfulness helps her with very much. Her walks will, therefore, be led at a mindful pace which enables a true presence through all the senses. Mindful stops will be built in so that we can conect with nature, in stillness as well as movement.
Sophie has walked frequently in the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland and also very much enjoys finding ‘oases of calm’  in which to walk, in and around London. She particularly enjoys the sights, sounds and various pleasures of walking amongst trees, and noting how this changes at different times of day and from season to season.
Sophie will lead walks in London Parks including Queens Wood, Highgate Wood and Hampstead Heath as well as Epping Forest and the Lea Valley. Length, terrain and content of walks will be adapted to suit different abilities.
