In the 8 week course we will meet once a week for two hours to practice mindfulness techniques, study the workings of the mind and share our experiences. We will be sitting, walking, lying down and moving gently.
There will be some written exercises and discussion as well as times of silence and meditation.
This is Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with some cognitive work as well.
During the course 45 mins of daily practice is recommended to ensure that a firm foundation of mindfulness is established.
Missing one lesson will not impact badly on your experience as long as you continue to meditate with your recordings during the time away from the group.

Alison Prideaux MA has been teaching the classic 8wk course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction since 2009. She trained in London in 2009 with Michael Chaskalson author of The Mindful Workplace. She is now on year 3 of a 4 year postgraduate diploma in Teaching Mindfulness Based Interventions at Bangor University, one of the few internationally recognised centres of excellence for Mindfulness.
Alison has witnessed students derive much personal benefit from their consistent practice finding that Mindfulness can bring an end to recurrent bouts of depression, chronic pain, high blood pressure and anxiety.
She is very enthusiastic about the effectiveness of this simple technique and is keen to pass on the skill to help others rise above difficulty, cope with life`s challenges and live life to the full!
